Meet Joy, Owner & Groomer
Joy is the passionate owner and groomer of Hair of the Dog.
She can hardly believe it’s been 14 years! She listens and works with owners to provide an individual, personal groom that combines both style and ease of care- the ultimate balance.
She adapts her handling style to work successfully with hard to groom dogs and helps change their narrative. Her love of grooming cats and over a decade of experience has evolved into a unique grooming practice that centers around calm and positive cat grooms.
Her love of learning is being quenched with the addition of White Fang Non- Sedation Dental Cleaning to the shop and she is always available to answer any questions.
Nataliia, Our Dental Cleaner
Nataliia is our incredible non-sedation, ultrasonic cleaning service provider which is part of our White Fang Dental Cleaning portion of the shop.
She has been a Veterinarian in Ukraine, specializing in dental, for over 25 years. In Ukraine, non-sedation dental cleaning is a routine, regular practice of caring for your pet, cat or dog. She has performed hundreds upon hundreds of cleanings and is calm and patient, providing the ultimate care for your pet.
Her goal is to change the smile, breath and health of our Valley’s pets one cleaning at a time. She is also skilled, and has a passion for working with and grooming cats and has brought her unique European creative grooming of Yorkshire Terriers to our shores.
Lexi, Our Groomer
Lexi is one amazing groomer!
Her trilling, chirping and unique communication style can be heard throughout the shop to engage and distract even the most frightened pet. She has over a decade of experience in shops and mobile grooming from Victoria to Nanaimo.
She acquired her Animal Care Aid certificate from VIU which brings safety and knowledge to every situation.
Her patience, care and attention to detail shine in her grooming and the happy clients that bound, scamper or trot away!
